  • Like a big, Wi-Fi only Samsung Galaxy Note phone, the Note 8.0 could certain find a home in the handbag of someone with creative leanings and solid penmanship. If this doesn't describe you, the Note 8.0 might have a lesser appeal, especially with the iPad...

  • Excellent size; Lots of the great stylusbased features; Strong performance; Better than average battery life; 3G edition allows you to make calls
  • Plastic build; No 4G option; Display could be better; Expensive compared to similarly specced WiFi devices (Nexus 7, iPad Mini, Asus Padfone 2)
  • The Note 8 is the true goldilocks device of Samsung's ever-growing Note range of tablets and smartphones. It offers excellent performance and it's also rather eye-catching. We're just not sure whether it's worth more than the iPad Mini, however....

  • Abstract:  Aside from inundating the smartphone landscape with affordable Android devices in every conceivable size, is there any method to Samsung's madness? We're not sure, but the recently-introduced Galaxy Note 8.0 is not just another Galaxy phablet....

  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is comfortable to hold and has the best-looking small tablet screen yet. Writing with the S Pen feels natural and is preferred over typing on a tablet screen. Storage can be expanded via microSD, and the Watch On feature has p...
  • The $399 price is a lot for a small tablet, no matter its features. It's not as thin or as light as the iPad Mini, and some people won't appreciate the highly saturated look of the OS. Also, its face buttons sometimes get in the way and there are occas...
  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a stunning tablet with a truly useful stylus, but it's not worth $400 unless you're an artist or prefer pen input.

  • S Pen; Great size for onehanded use; Bright, colourful screen; Powerful multitasking
  • Display not as sharp as some rivals; Average media battery life
  • Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.0 is our new favourite S Pen device, thanks to its handy size for clutching one-handed. If you demand a tablet for doing multiple things at once, and staying both productive and creative on the go, you’ll love the Galaxy Note 8.0....
